World Champions Sumo at MSG theater was everything I hoped & dreamed and more. Not a bad seat in the house and truly thrilling. Cannot wait to see sumo again.

There was a website called StumbleUpon. You clicked a button and you'd get redirected to some random website on the Internet ran by some random person about some random thing or community. https://t.co/6hoZA5hs4g — SwiftOnSecurity (@SwiftOnSecurity) July 8, 2023ALT

I can’t stress enough how much I miss StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon once sent me to a supercut of Lion King, Lion King 1 ½, and Lion King II, the main edit being that the scenes of Lion King and Lion King 1 ½ were interspersed so that they happened in the order they actually happened.

stumbleupon not existing anymore can be directly traced to a dramatic decline in my mental health, I could do a thesis on it.

bestie stumbleupon very much still exists its just called cloudhiker now. i use it all the time.

mini compilation of suggestions from the replies:

The Bored Button - “Press the Bored Button and be bored no more.”

The Useless Web

Cloudhiker - “Discover the most interesting, weird and awesome websites of the Internet” (not really a rebrand, it’s a different person running it but they have the same intention in mind)

Astronaut.io - “These videos come from YouTube. They were uploaded in the last week and have titles like DSC 1234 and IMG 4321. They have almost zero previous views. They are unnamed, unedited, and unseen (by anyone but you).”

Marginalia - “This is an independent DIY search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and attempts to show you sites you perhaps weren’t aware of in favor of the sort of sites you probably already knew existed.”

wow I am loving these zingy sour things my friend brought home from the bodega

they are less gummy than your average Haribo- more like a fruit rollup than a flat gummy worm- and the whole thing covered in sour dust. Zingy!

Are you into tarot? I like tarot enough that I will get a reading if there is a cool tarot card reader at a party, and I think I have a couple tarot decks i have received as gifts, but I have never really gotten into using them on myself but MAYBE THIS CUTE TAROT CARD TABLE ONLINE HAS CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR TAROT AND ME??!!! Wow do i love tarot cards now??? I think i do!

I am really enjoying this little tarot platform called Moonlight that launched recently. The lady who started it has run some neat online community projects in the past so I have been rooting for them from afar, and it’s so good.

Anyway If you click on “Try a Free Tarot Room” start a room, it has a little built in card deck with all the spreads and a guide thingy and you can just do a reading for yourself! or invite one of your friends on and hang out and do readings with each other for free! or book with a professional tarot card reader if you want a whole experience! Get Tarot Lessons even! Looks like they will be expanding to be selling more artist decks in the future too. We love a virtual goods art marketplace!

The UI is delightful, intuitive and really helpful for just getting in there and reflecting with the cards. I just gave myself a few readings like I know what I am doing and I honestly feel better than I did before I started playing with the cards. How refreshing a feeling to find online!

Check them out at Moonlight.world it’s free and cute.
