- Instagram, Tonight (April 25), 7 p.m. | BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II managed to correctly predict numerous technological changes that would come to fruition 26 years later, including smart home technology, video chat systems, hands-free video games, and tablet computers with fingerprint scanners. The Nike Air Mag became an actual self-lacing shoe in 2008, created by footwear innovators Tinker Hatfield and Tiffany Beers. You can see them on view now in the exhibition “Future Now: Virtual Sneakers to Cutting-Edge Kicks”!
- Instagram, Dubbed as a “theater-circus-danceumentary” by director and @Do_Jump company founder Robin Lane, THAT HAPPENED tells the life story of the Portland-based acrobatic, circus, dance troupe from its inception in 1977 through pandemic virtual performances and ultimately ending with a live filming of the troupe. The film begins with a whirlwind journey through Robin Lane and DoJump's live performances from 1977 through 2019. From 2020 to the present, a new element of the company’s life emerged in the form of THAT HAPPENED, a physical, poignant, and zany multi-genre reflection of the evolving experiences of an ensemble of talented circus performers and musicians. In a last-ditch attempt to set things straight, Marty finds himself bound for 1955 and face to face with his teenage parents— again. See everything the 1989 film predicted correctly, like the self-lacing Nike MAGS (on view in “Future Now: Virtual Sneakers to Cutting-Edge Kicks”!)
