From @coldsplinters:
@workhard.hardlywork and I bought this 1200 square foot adobe/stone cabin in rural northern New Mexico back in 2017. The lot (legally named Tract F) was 40 acres and we’ve since bought an additional 25 adjoining acres in the last few years.
The cabin was built in the early 2000s but was never lived in, so we’re the first residents. We’ve done a lot of “stuff” to the place, but most notably, we replaced a giant inefficient stone fireplace with a wood stove and added a south-facing sun room.
We’re completely off-grid with solar for electricity and 6,200 gallons of rain catchment for our water supply. Satellite internet allows us to work from home and read Noah Kalina’s incredible weekly newsletter, which we hope he one day brings back.
