Here are the answers to questions I am regularly asked:

Q: Do you offer private readings?
A: Yes, I do. Please click the following link for information: http://www.chipcoffey.com/private-readings.html

Q: Where can I buy one of the scarves like you wear?
A: You can purchase scarves and other cool merchandise - like signed copies of my book, tee-shirts, Coffey mugs, autographed photos, etc. - at my online Coffey Shop, located here: http://chipcoffey.mybisi.com/

Q: Will you be doing an event in (insert name of city) anytime in the future?
A: A complete list of all events that I am currently scheduled to attend can be found here:
http://www.chipcoffey.com/events-appearances.html

Q: When is Psychic Kids returning to TV? Will there be any new episodes?
A: The A&E network has not ordered any new episodes of the show.  Episodes from Seasons 1-3 frequently air as repeats on the Biography Channel.  FYI: the show most definitely was NOT cancelled due to "bad press," as some folks on the Internet have wrongly stated.

Q: Will there be more episodes of Celebrity Ghost Hunt?
A: The episode of Celebrity Ghost Hunt that has already aired was the pilot for a potential new series.  Thus far, no new episodes of the show have been ordered.

Q: Will you be returning to Paranormal State?
A: Paranormal State is no longer in production and, as far as I know, no new episodes of the show are planned.  Repeats of past episodes frequenly air on the Biography Channel.

Q: Why weren't you on the most recent episodes of Paranormal State? Were you fired from the show?
A: I was absolutely NOT fired from Paranormal State. For personal and professional reasons, I chose to leave the show during its fourth season.  I appeared on 30 episodes of Paranormal State and was also featured on Paranormal State: The New Class.

THE MEANING OF LIFE

Several years ago, during a time of quiet reflection, I asked my Spirit Partners the following question: "What, REALLY, is the meaning of life?"

I heard them laughing...and it pissed me off, because I thought I had asked a valid question.

Then, they said to me, "Chip, the meaning of life is very simple: just get though it the best ways that you can."

Well, I thought THAT was a very glib and pat answer, so I replied, "You are gonna have to give me more than that!"

And once again, they laughed! "You - ALL OF YOU - who are in the human form tend to complicate EVERYTHING, when, in reality, most things are so much more SIMPLE than you envision them to be." Then they continued...

"All that is asked of you are two things:

"1.) Do no intentional harm to yourself or to others and 2.) Get happy. Find out what makes you happy and strive for it."

I told them that this still sounded too simplistic to me. Lovingly - and without laughter - they responded, "Just think about it..."

And I did think about it.

And in its simplicity, the words they spoke to me became ENORMOUS!

If we do not intentionally harm others or ourselves and, in tandem, we strive to be happy - whatever that means - we are living our lives positively and authentically. We are living as we should.

Every day, I try to live by those simple instructions...

August 6, 2012

Over a decade ago, when I began my work as a professional psychic and medium, I worked for a telephone psychic hotline called Keen.com.  One of the other psychics who worked for Keen was a woman named Beatrice Marot, who lives in California and calls herself “The High Priestess of Hollywood.” She claims that her main spirit guide is an ancient Druid magician named Merlin and that dead celebrities such as John Belushi, Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Johnny Carson, Elvis Presley, Tupac Shakur, John Lennon, producer Marvin Worth and, most recently, famed atheist and skeptic Christopher Hitchens, frequently communicate with her.

At first, Beatrice and I were cordial to each other. We even spoke by phone a few times, although not nearly as often as Beatrice claims that we did. She recently wrote:

“And Chip did adore me for two years. We spoke several times a week. I shared my most intimate secrets with him.  He was my confidante and my dear friend and I loved him like a brother. I shared with him all of my knowledge and wisdom about the spiritual realms and he was always the eager listener …”

Totally untrue! As I said above, we spoke by phone a few times, certainly not “several times a week” and not “for two years.” And to this very day, she and I have never met face-to-face. Beatrice would have you believe that she was my “spiritual teacher,” my guru or my sensei, but nothing is further from the truth. And honestly, I never “adored” Beatrice. I liked her well enough, in the beginning, the way that many people like their co-workers.  But that soon changed!

Psychics who work for Keen are able to set their own per-minute rates for the readings that they provide to Keen’s customers. Generally, I – and other top psychics in our specific Keen category, called “Voices from Beyond” – would set our per-minute rate at $2.49. On the other hand, Beatrice undercut all of her fellow Keen psychics by setting her rate at $1.00 per minute.

When many other psychics took notice of Beatrice’s lower rate, which was yielding her more calls that the rest of us were receiving, we lowered our rates to $1.00 per minute in order to remain competitive. As soon as we began matching her rate, Beatrice went ballistic, accusing us of trying to undermine her and steal her business, when all we were doing was leveling the playing field.

The situation quickly turned quite ugly. Beatrice does not like being challenged, so she went on the offensive, engaging in conflicts with many other Keen psychics. (This is a statement of fact that can be verified by numerous individuals. Look below for verification from two other psychics who worked for Keen.)

Beatrice would have you believe that I “rallied” other psychics against her, but I did not. Others who worked for Keen at the time can verify this.  And I certainly did not have the necessary “clout” to have Beatrice fired from a multi-million dollar company like Keen! She managed to do that herself…and here is how it really happened:

Customers who call Keen for readings are able to leave a rating and feedback for the psychic that they speak with. During the time that Beatrice was fighting with other Keen psychics, she received a few calls from customers who left her less than glowing feedback. She incorrectly assumed that other Keen psychics had set her up to receive this bad feedback and she accused me of being their “ringleader.” Totally untrue!

Whenever Beatrice received negative feedback from a Keen customer, she would fire off a nasty email to that customer. (See the example I have posted below, sent to me by a mutual Keen customer who was appalled by Beatrice’s email.) Some of them reported those emails to Keen Customer Service and Beatrice was warned not to send them…but this did not stop her from doing so. She continued to send the nasty emails and to engage in conflicts with other psychics. Eventually, because Beatrice refused to abide by Keen’s rules, she was suspended and then, soon after, she was fired from the site.

Perhaps the only thing that Beatrice claims about me that is entirely true is this: purchasing the domain names beatricemarot.com and beatricemarot.net. After weeks of receiving harassing emails and phone calls from Beatrice, I purchased the domain names for no other reason than to just to piss her off. Am I proud of the fact that I did this? Certainly not, but I’ll own up to it. (And I have been paying dearly for it ever since!)

Beatrice would have you believe that I am guilty of trying to extort $3,000.00 from her for the purchase of those domain names. And that I “stole her identity.” Totally untrue!  I purchased the domain names legally – owning a domain name is NOT “identity theft"! – and turned them over to my then-webmaster, Mark Ott.

When Beatrice discovered I’d bought the two domain names, she once again climbed up the crazy tree! She called me by phone, screaming profanities…and I advised her that I’d turned the domains over to Mark, provided her with his contact info and instructed her to call him if she wanted to purchase the domains.

Mark Ott is the one who informed Beatrice that he’d sell her the domain names for a cost of $1,500.00 each. (Remember: According to Beatrice, I am the one who tried to “extort” money from her for the domain names.) Again, this was all perfectly legal. Beatrice went off the deep end and repeatedly called Mark and his assistant, screaming and cursing at them, demanding that they give her the domain names. Her harassment became so bad that Mark finally contacted the Los Angeles Police to solicit their assistance in stopping her calls.

Finally, after several days of enduring Beatrice’s wrath, Mark transferred ownership of the two domain names over to Beatrice. FOR FREE! According to Beatrice, she was forced to wait for an entire year until ownership of the domains expired so that she could purchase them, but this, again, is totally untrue.

Since then, I have tried to ignore Beatrice, hoping that she will end her crazy vendetta against me, but to no avail.  It is very unlikely that a sane, rational person would continue to hold a grudge for 10 long years.  But in my opinion, Beatrice is neither sane nor rational. She is unrelenting in her hatred and harassment!

Just Google her name - Beatrice Marot - and you will quickly discover the kind of horrendous behavior she exhibits. You will NOT find numerous websites and message boards where I have posted about Beatrice. Conversely, she has taken advantage of any and every opportunity possible to berate me all over the internet.

And get this: Beatrice has even contacted my agents, managers and TV networks, hoping to turn them against me!

But undoubtedly the most heinous and unconsionable thing that Beatrice has done to me is to insinuate, on message boards here online, that because I am gay and work with children, I am a pedophile. How sickening and evil and WRONG is THAT?!?

She has gotten into countless online fights with many people. She has posted rambling, deranged, often profane comments on numerous sites.  Some of her comments have included homophobic, religious and racial slurs. Just Google her name - Beatrice Marot - and I predict that you will be shocked by what you read.

Beatrice has had nasty run-ins with actors Billy Zane and Sean Penn. (According to Beatrice herself, Penn threatened to file a restraining order against her for harassment!) Dick Clark Productions allegedly threatened to sue her after she auditioned for them, then broke the confidentiality agreement that she signed by posting information about their upcoming project online. Currently, she is engaging in an internet battle with several women because of a pet rescue situation gone bad. (Beatrice threatened to send two dogs that she was fostering to a kill shelter after one of them chewed up some of her belongings!) And, as stated above, she was fired from Keen, a psychic hotline, for constantly breaking their rules.

Beatrice thrives on discord. She spends endless hours trolling the internet, searching for places to malign me and others. She accuses other people of bullying and victimizing her when, in fact, she is the culprit. Perhaps if she had spent time during the past 10 years focusing on her own career instead of fighting with others she would be more successful.

In a blog posted just today, Beatrice admitted that she recently “almost committed suicide” and “ended up in the loony bin on a three day involuntary hold.” (Her words, not mine.)  If this is true, I sincerely feel sorry for her and hope that she will get the help that she so desperately needs.

Perhaps the best advice she could ever receive came from an unlikely source: BK Thorp of the James Randi Educational Foundation. Despite the fact that the JREF does not like me one bit, Mr. Thorpe had the following advice for Beatrice after she contacted them back in 2010 regarding me:

“The people here do not care about the internecine squabbles within the ‘psychic’ community, and they are not impressed by your struggle to clear your name. If anything, you are undermining your credibility by clinging to some long-gone feud while claiming to be a creature of love, light, acceptance, and serenity. From the perspective of a non-interested party, you seem vengeful and obsessive; hung up on something somebody said in some cluster of online forums that we've never visited. By carrying your fight to the JREF, you come off as the online version of those tipsy strangers one occasionally encounters at bars -- the ones who will cling to your shirt and tearfully attempt to involve you in their venal personal dramas. It's not compelling, it's not interesting, and it's not even meaningful, because nothing we can do will make you feel better. It's merely embarrassing.

“People seldom realize how much of themselves they reveal to the world as they go about their day-to-day, but that holds truer for some of us than others. You have an uncommonly large blind spot in this area. You speak about love and peace, but you demonstrate only an inability to overcome a perceived slander. This is not a persuasive advertisement for your worldview. We've all taken our knocks, Bea, and most of us move on. Why won't you?

“I'd suggest dropping your personal jihad against Chip Coffey.”

Sadly, Beatrice did not take Mr. Thorp’s advice. Just this past weekend, she called my office and left four long, rambling, hate-filled messages on my voice mail.

And today, she posted yet another blog about me, recounting, ad nauseum, the same 10 year old story. In the blog, she calls me a sociopath. In my opinion, she is projecting her own psychopathology onto me.

Beatrice wants people to believe that I have stalked her, harassed her, ruined her, etc. BUT NOTHING IS FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH! Just Google her name - Beatrice Marot - and you will see that she is guilty of obsessively stalking and harassing me for 10 long years!

In the past, I have tried to ignore Beatrice’s insane, irrational behavior, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

UPDATE - August 8, 2012

After learning that I had written and posted this blog, Beatrice went beserk! Here is a small portion of the nasty comments she has already posted on the internet:

CHIP IS ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REALLY SET OUT TO "HARM HIM"

YOU HAVE ACCUSED ME OF THINGS THAT ARE COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY FABRICATED AND NOW YOU ARE GOING TO PAY...

YOU ARE HISTORY!

UPDATE - August 13, 2012

Beatrice posted the following on an internet blog:

CHIP COFFEY, YOU ARE A PUBLIC FIGURE. IF SOMEONE WANTS TO WRITE THAT YOU ARE A DISGUSTING FOUR EYED FAG WHO SCARES CHILDREN AND CONSORTS WITH SATAN, THEY CAN DO THAT. PRESIDENT OBAMA CAN BE CALLED A N***ER BY A RACIST PIG AND GUESS WHAT, THEY CAN LEGALLY DO THAT.

Have you noticed that, often, when you look at a clock, the time is 11:11, 12:12, 1:11, 2:22, etc.? Or do certain numbers or patterns of numbers frequently pop up in your life? Many people reportedly experience this strange phenomenon and these seemingly random occurrences become too coincidental to be mere coincidences. Do these occurrences associated with time and/or numbers have some spiritual or mystical significance?

Several years ago, I realized that the numbers 12 and 21 have shown up with almost eerie regularity in my life. Here are a few examples:

Sadly, my older brother, Bobby, died when he was only 21 hours old. 12 years later, I was born on August 21.

My maternal grandparents had 16 living grandchildren. My cousin, Marilyn, is the eldest grandchild and I am the youngest. Both Marilyn and I were born on August 21 -- 21 years apart.

My dad died on May 12, 1986, which also happens to be the day (different year) that my cousin and housemate, Kenny, was born. My mother died on August 12, 1998. My parents died 12 years (and 3 months) apart.

My cousin, Joye, who was like a sister to me, died on December 12, 2005. That’s 12-12-05.

Once, when pondering the strange occurrences of 12s and 21s in my life, I heard my spirit guide, Wesley, say to me, “Well, you know, Kenny also has 12s and 21s in his life, too.”

This made me stop and think!

Kenny was born on May 12 -- 12 years after his parents were married.

Kenny’s mom, my Aunt Polly, was born on November 12, 1914. Polly was my father’s sister. My mother’s sister, Dot, was born on November 13, 1914. I always found it a bit unusual that I had two aunts, from different sides of my family, who were born so closely together. When I began to ponder the strange patterns of 12’s and 21’s, this led me to wonder if perhaps Polly and Dot were born either 12 or 21 hours apart. Is it possible that this strange “pattern” of numbers has existed within my family for an unknown period of time?

Kenny’s parents died 12 years (and 3 months) apart – exactly the time between my own parents’ deaths!

During the filming of Season 3 of Psychic Kids, Greg, the audio technician, shared with me that his father had recently died on his (Greg’s) birthday – May 12. As mentioned earlier, my own father also died on May 12, which is also my cousin, Kenny’s, birthday.

Several years ago, when Kenny was applying for a passport, I took a look at his birth certificate before mailing it in, along with the application. I had always known that I was born at 3:57 p.m., but was stunned to discover that Kenny was born at 3:57 a.m.! There is precisely a 12 hour difference between the times of day that Kenny and I were born!

In the study of numerology, both 12 and 21 reduce, when the individual integers are added together, to the number 3. (1 + 2 = 3 and 2 + 1 = 3) To many, particularly Christians because of the Holy Trinity, 3 is considered a divine number. Curiously, my numerological destiny number, based on my birth date, is also 3.

The TV show, "Touch," starring Kiefer Sutherland speaks of the Fibonacci number sequence and the importance of numbers as an indicator that "Every thought, every breath, every action is connected." What have YOU experienced? What do YOU think???

Here is the link to a great trailer video for the show, "Touch": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvQ_qJYZ-7A

I may never know the meaning or significance the 12s and 21s, but I am certainly intrigued and fascinated by how often those numbers seem to materialize in my life.

DISGUSTING WEBSITE

I guess I wasn't quite prepared for some of the things that happen as a result of becoming a "public figure." I always try to look for the best in others, but I've sadly learned that some people are mean-spirited, jealous and filled with hate.

I am a psychic/medium, I am Catholic and I am gay. I guess I won the trifecta for potential guilt and bullying. Whereas I feel absolutely no guilt or shame regarding who I am or the work that I do, I have certainly encountered my share of bullying during this lifetime.

Others whose work is similar to mine -- John Edward, Sylvia Brown, James Van Praagh, Allison Dubois, etc. -- have all suffered at the hands of those who malign us for our work as psychics. We've been called fakes, frauds and parasites, among other nasty words and comments. Sad, but true.

Recently, a website dedicated to maligning me, popped up on the internet: www.chipcoffey.info. Please go and look at it. It says some very malicious, vile and decidedly untrue things about me. And it says some pretty ugly things about those who support me and my work! I predict that many of you will be as disgusted by the content of this website as I am.

I discovered that the owner of the domain name www.chipcoffey.info is a man named Reap Paden. (Real name: Danny Paden, but he goes by the moniker “Reap Sow.”) Although I am loathe to give attention to any of my "haters," since attention is precisely what they are desperately seeking, I feel it is time to begin calling out a few people for their horrendous behavior and actions, starting with Mr. Paden.

I sent a cease and desist letter regarding this website to Mr. Paden and this is the reply I received from him:

I didn't create the website but looks to me like the website is parody or satire, it even says so. I would suggest to you , chip, that you get over yourself. You do not have psychic abilities but I'd love to see you prove in a court of law all the crazy shit you claim to be able to do.

Let's take a guess as to why the website was created, this is just a guess. Because you are a dick. You are a dick because you give children the message that when they think there are spirits in their bedrooms there really are spirits in the room. For your information many children who have been molested or otherwise abused have episodes just like the ones the kids you deal with claim to have. Kids can not deal with abuse in the same manner adults do, they don't have the maturity. Even if your pathetic TV show is 100% staged then you should be advising parents to take their children to see a counselor not trying to teach them how to rationalize disturbing behavior. The likely-hood you are causing life-long damage is very high. You want to take anybody to court you go ahead and do that but you better be ready to defend your behavior. You think it is okay to bully people chip, or to make fun of them, or to talk down to them , or to act like you are above any and all criticism. None of that is true and it's about time you learned that.

You are being held accountable for your own immoral behavior. If this bothers you then maybe you need to make some changes.

You can't stop people from expressing themselves chip. I can't say for sure cause like I said, I didn't create the site but I would imagine if this website is forced to shut down no less than ten exactly like it will pop up in random places. People will go to any site that allows a domain name and create one using your name. Soon when someone google searches you, all they will find is parody and satire. Were you under the impression that just one person is critical of your behavior? That's just silly. In closing I'd like to say Chip Coffey, you can suck it. Maybe if you acted more like a responsible adult instead of a guy who thinks he has superpowers and victimizes people these kinds of websites wouldn't pop up.You can't stop them chip, accept it.

Please direct any further inquiries to my legal adviser-
Mr IdontGive A. Shit

FYI: Although Mr. Paden claims he did not create the website, he is nonetheless legally listed as its administrative contact and is therefore accountable for content on the site. I have contacted my attorney regarding this matter and we are considering our legal options because this site is defamatory and libelous toward me.

Another FYI, regarding Mr. Paden’s response to me: I ALWAYS urge parents whose children claim to be experiencing paranormal or psychic occurrences to have their children thoroughly evaluated by appropriate professionals.

Mr. Paden and/or one of his associates evidently hates me very much, given the fact that he/she spent quite a bit of time creating this offensive website. I certainly do not expect that everyone will like/respect me and the work that I do, but I think any sane, rational person will agree that this website is repulsive and disgusting.

I know that some of you will say “just ignore the haters” and that is what I generally try to do. But haters tend to be very aggressive and noisy. And sometimes we need to stand up to them.

I am proud of who I am and I am proud of the work that I do. I will never allow those who are filled contempt and hate to stop me from trying to help others.

As always, I am very grateful to all of my family, friends and fans for your love and support. We must stand together against bigotry, bullying and hatred! ^i^

If you would like to let Danny "Reap" Paden know your feelings about the website www.chipcoffey.info, his e-mail address is:
atheist@angryatheist.info.

UPDATE:

Danny "Reap Sow" Paden has admitted, both in writing and on his podcast, that he did, in fact, create the website that seeks to defame me. This admission of guilt pleased my attorney very much. It also proves that Mr. Paden is a liar.

This is what Reap posted on his Facebook page in response to this blog. Please pardon the profanity...

26 years ago today, my dad died. After years of suffering complications of diabetes, including having one of his legs amputated, he died at the VA Hospital in Atlanta.

During his funeral, I was sitting in the front row of the chapel, along with my mother, as the minister preached beside my dad's flag-draped coffin. (My dad served in the US Navy during World War II.)

At one point, I closed my eyes, and much to my amazement, there stood my dad, right before me. Then he "spoke" to me.

"Promise me something," he said.

"What's that?" I replied.

"Promise me that you will always take care of your mother," he spoke, earnestly.

"You know that I will," I told my father, sincerely.

And then, he was gone.

I believe that my dad needed to know that I would remain close and committed to my mother -- his wife -- before he was willing to make his transition from the earthly plane to the realm of spirit. And when I assured him that I would, his soul departed.

I kept the promise I made to him on that day. For the next 12 years, I lovingly cared for my mom, until her own death in 1998.

My dad was a complicated man, in many ways, but I loved him nonetheless. And I miss him.

April 16, 2012

My first book, Growing Up Psychic, has already stirred a bit of controversy. Thus far, the controversy has extended only to some members of the "skeptical" (read that: those who love to aggressively put down anything that does not fit into their narrow- or closed-minded views) community and, of course, my handful of "haters" (read that: those who love to ride the coattails and speak disparagingly of those who have achieved a measure of success when they, themselves, have not).

News flash: I expected the book to stir some controversy. In fact, I hoped and prayed that it would! One of my goals for the book was to have it open up (pun intended) spirited dialogues about psychic children.

One thing that a recent blogger felt was worthy of "attacking" me about was the subject of my maternal great-grandmother, Minnie Sue Morrow Foster. As I have always stated, Minnie Sue was Native American (Cherokee) and she was a medicine woman and shaman. (The blogger asserts you cannot be both. My Native friends tell me a different story.) Minnie Sue practiced her work in the early years of the 20th century in the Southeast.

(Interesting fact about Minnie Sue: she was born on March 4 and died on March 4 at the exact age of 57 from a cerebral hemmorhage.)

Several "critics" have stated that they cannot find info about Minnie Sue on the Internet and have criticized me for calling her "famed." In her own right and in certain circles, my great-grandmother WAS "famed." Many people came to her so that she could "work her medicine" on them and her "fame" spread by word-of-mouth. I never claimed she was a "great historical figure."

Believe the FACTS about my great-grandmother or not. I couldn't care less. In fact, I'm fairly certain Minnie Sue is having a laugh in Spirit every time someone doubts/questions her existence or her Native roots.

I've also been subjected to questions about my education. I have never -- let's say that again for emphasis: NEVER! -- touted myself as a strict academic. Although I am quite smart and well-educated, my work is primarily based in spirituality, metaphysics and the paranormal (that which cannot be fully understood or explained, but cannot be denied).

I did not write my book to be a "scientific tome." I have always asserted that the paranormal is a largely misunderstood and uncharted territory. But I AM adamant about the fact that many children (and adults) who profess to having paranormal experiences are NOT psychologically unstable or simply seeking attention.

How do we explain their VALIDATED experiences? As yet, we do not...and THAT is the purpose of my book. To stir questions and interest and exploration into the subject of psychic and paranormal phenomena. And to further the cause of stopping naysayers who mistreat, misdiagnose and/or viciously malign those who have those experiences.

To those who have read my book and appreciated it, I say "Thank you very much...from the bottom of my heart."

To those who want to criticize or berate me or my book, I say "BRING IT, BITCHES!" because I am not gonna back off one little bit.

I'm sure there will be more to this story. In fact, I'm counting on it! Even PREDICTING it! :-)

February 26, 2012

It's funny how some people assume that psychics and mediums know everything.  News flash: we don't!

Equally as humorous is the assumption that wherever we go and whatever we do, we are constantly in "psychic mode."  This just in: we aren't!

Think of it this way: when a doctor or lawyer or waiter or car mechanic is at work, he or she is (ideally) working.  But when he/she "clocks out" and leaves work, he/she is on his/her own private and personal "time clock."  It's no different for psychics and mediums.

Personally, I do not live-and-breathe the paranormal (or spiritual or metaphysical) 24/7/365.  (366 in leap years!)  I have a life outside of "work mode," during which I enjoy spending time with family/friends/pets, watching TV, reading, surfing the internet, sleeping, etc. You know...everyday, normal things that all people enjoy doing on their time off from work.

I am frequently asked by individuals on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter for free readings and consultations.  If I responded to all of those requests, that would leave me no time to earn a living by providing readings and consultations to my paying clients.  I utilize Facebook and Twitter for social interactions with my family/friends/fans and to let everyone know what's happening with me, both personally and professionally.  No readings, no consults.

Anyone who is seriously interested in having a private telephone reading or consultation with me can learn more about how to set up an appointment here: http://www.chipcoffey.com/readings-events.html

And while I am getting a few things off my chest: I literally SMH and LOL when someone asks me to provide them with lottery numbers.  Think about it for a minute.  If I COULD somehow "know" the winning Lotto numbers, I would be living in a luxurious villa in the South of France (or Amalfi Coast of Italy), being waited on hand-and-foot by an overly-attentive staff!  24/7/365!  (366 in leap years!)

WHY can't I, as a psychic, predict winning lottery numbers?  I have no idea, but I can't (dammit!)...so I don't worry about it.  It is what it is.  I'm perfectly OK with living in my modest home in the suburbs of Atlanta, driving my Kia Soul and shopping at Wal-Mart...

...for now.  Bwahahahaha!

February 23, 2012

A reporter once asked me to list 10 random things about myself that very few people know.  I kinda struggled to make the list and then, it wasn't used as part of the article he did on me.  :-/

I just came across the list today when I was searching for something in my Word documents, so I thought that I would finally share it, just for sh!ts and giggles...

1. I sometimes sleep with my head at the foot of my bed...for no apparent reason whatsoever.

2. I have several allergies. I am allergic to feathers/down, so I have to ask for feather-free rooms at hotels.  (No feather pillows or down comforters, please.)  I am allergic to wool...it makes me itch like crazy!  I am also allergic to DOGS, despite the fact that I have 4 right now.  And I used to be allergic to milk, but not anymore.

3. I have a fear of heights.  Google "aeroacrophobia."

4. I am not fond of eating mushrooms, especially on pizza.  Blech!

5. I have written 35 plays and they have all been produced.  I was also an avid poetry writer at one time.

6. My mom once traveled cross country by train with actress Lucille Ball.  (Not really "about me," but a cool story...)

7. I have some weird eye/hand coordination difficulties, so I never learned to touch type or play a piano, both of which I really wanted to do.

8. I have amazing memory recall for dates and numbers.  I can remember every single phone number I've ever had since I was a little kid.

9. I know the lyrics of thousands of songs, dating back to the 1950's.

10. Never, in my entire life, have I not had a dog (or dogs -- and, quite often, cats, too) as part of my family.

I remember thinking, after I made this list, that "no one is gonna care about these things" ... so it's perfectly okay if you don't. LOL

The big reveal during last night's episode of SyFy's Ghost Hunters was that Grant Wilson has decided to depart from the show.  I've been asked by many people if I knew that Grant planned to leave.  The truth is I did not.  Although I am friends with several Ghost Hunters cast members, they didn't breathe a word about Grant's departure.

And no, I didn't intuitively know he was leaving the show.  Psychics don't know everything.  That's God's job.  I did, however, suspect that the "shocking news that will change everything" possibly meant that Grant was departing.  I'd heard some rumblings that he was considering that decision.

When a popular face on a TV show leaves, there is speculation as to why the departure occurred.  Sometimes, the individual is fired from a show, for any number of reasons.  Other times, the person leaves for personal or professional reasons.  TV series that have long runs often have changes within the cast.

When I stopped showing up on Paranormal State during Season 4, rumors abounded that I'd been fired from the show.  Or that I'd had a huge conflict with one or more members of the cast.  The truth is: I was not fired from the series and I did choose to depart for both personal and professional reasons.  No huge drama, no scandal, just the fact that there was a lot going on in my life at the time and there are just so many hours in a day.

Being a part of a successful TV show  is certainly great for ones career, but it's also tough.  The production schedule of shows like Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, Psychic Kids, Ghost Adventures, etc. can be grueling, often requiring long stretches of time spent on the road, away from the creature comforts of home and family.  Believe me when I tell you that after weeks/months/years of that type of schedule, your body, mind and spirit need a break.

I suspect that as much as Grant Wilson loves the show, his fellow cast members and his fans, he simply needs some "me" time.  After several years on Ghost Hunters and appearing at many events, I'm quite sure that he is exhausted.  And as much as everyone will miss Grant, we should all wish him well as he returns to a more "normal" schedule of real life, not reality TV.

Two months from today, on April 3, my first book, Growing Up Psychic, will be released!  I am super excited - and a bit nervous.  I must say that I am quite pleased with the way the book turned out and, of course, I hope that those who read the book will like it.

In the book, I provide valuable information and guidance for how to cope with the often-difficult process of growing up psychic.  I also share many of my own experiences as a young psychic.  And as an added bonus, there are numerous updates about children who appeared on the TV show, Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal.

I truly hope that everyone who has interactions with psychic kids will read my book: parents, other relatives, neighbors, teachers, guidance counselors, physicians, mental health clinicians, members of the clergy, etc.  And, of course, the book will undoubtedly be helpful and healing for adults who, themselves, grew up psychic.

Growing Up Psychic is available for pre-ordering on sites like Amazon, Barnes & Noble and iTunes.  And yes, it is available on Kindle!  Look here for details about pre-ordering: http://www.chipcoffey.com/growinguppsychic.html

I'm going to be running a contest with some cool prizes for anyone who pre-orders my book.  I will be announcing details about the contest next week on Facebook and Twitter.  You are following me on Facebook and Twitter, right?  If not, here are the links:

I will be kicking off my Spring 2012 Coffey Talk in conjunction with the release of my book.  Our first stop will be Los Angeles at the fabulous Biltmore Hotel.  And then we will visit 14 more cities across the United States.  Every attendee at my spring tour events will receive a copy of Growing Up Psychic!  Look here for information and tickets for my spring tour: www.chipcoffeytour.com

I recently spent a few days in New York City on a trip that was part business, part pleasure.  It was great seeing some of my dear friends who live in NYC or surrounding areas.  I love visiting NYC and hope to spend more time there.

Anyone who visits NYC absolustely MUST stop by Donna Bell's Bake Shop, located near 49th Street and 8th Avenue.  The shop is co-owned by my precious friend, Pauley Perrette, who play Abby on the CBS show, NCIS.  The desserts they offer are to die for!  And they also have delicious daily specials, like chicken & dumplings and macaroni & cheese (YUMMY!), as well as tasty sandwiches.  When you stop by, say "hello" to Darren and Sam, the other co-owners, for me and tell them I sent you! :-)

Cousin Kenny and the girls are all doing fine.  Skeeter, my half Chihuahua / half Jack Russell, recently had a scratched cornea, so we had to put opthalmic creme in her eye for two weeks, but she is much better now.  She was not at all fond of wearing the collar the vet made her wear.  (I certainly do not want Skeeter to blame ME for making her wear that ugly, obnoxious thing!)

Here's a little Chip trivia: I am often asked how many scarves I own.  Honestly, there are too many to count, but I'd estimate that I have about 200+.  I think I need a 12 Step Program for scarf addicts!

I want to close for now by sharing with you a heartwarming letter I received today from a lady in Canada:

Hi Chip
I saw your show in Regina this past summer.  My husband asked you if you saw children in our future.  We had quite a lot of trouble in this area and were to the point we did not believe we could have children.  I want to thank you for helping me understand my fears and for making me believe that I will be a good mother!  And I want to tell you we are in fact pregnant.  You said 6-9 months and it happened!  As of this upcoming Monday we will be 3 months pregnant  If I never believed before, I do more now than ever!  I love what you do, love your honestly and love the person you are.  Thank you so much for making me believe in you and most importantly in myself!!  You're an amazing person!  Take care and I wish you love health and happiness always.

I am always so grateful to hear news like this from my clients and thankful that God allows me to help others.

As always, thanks to my family, friends and fans for your love and support.

More later.  xoxo

This is one example of many nasty emails that Beatrice Marot sent to customers of Keen that eventually resulted in her being fired from the site.

As stated above, I received this email from a mutual Keen client who happened to call Beatrice when he was unable to contact me for a reading.

I have kept the email for many years, along with MANY other examples of Beatrice's evil actions.
Two other psychics who also worked on Keen attest to the fact that what I have written about Beatrice here in my blog is THE TRUTH!
