Lasse Västhagen, cornet at vocals (born 1940). In the late 70's Lasse started playing cornet after a brake of aalmost twenty years. He then played in a number of bands with different constellations until 1993 when he became one of the initiators to the forming of the band Canal Creepers NOJB. Lasse plays a Conn-cornet, manufactured in 1913 !! purchased during a visit to New Orleans in 2001 by the cornet -player Chris Tyle. Since almost 30 years Lasse also sings in a choir called Åkersberga kammarkör.

 

 

Torbjörn Palm, clarinet and vocals (born 1961). Member of Canal Creepers since 2003. Torbjörn started to play as a teenager in the band Corps Dixie. He has since then played in several bands with different styles (swing, cover bands, theatre orchestras etc). Torbjörn plays the clarinet in Järfälla Symphony Orchestra. He also permforms as a troubadour.

 

 

Robert Dittmer, trombone (born 1944), started to play the trombone at the age of 14 in the band Cotton pickers and he received a solo price by Olle Orrje at a jazz competition at Stockholm concert hall. Robert has played with jubilee Jazz Band and he plays with Canal Creepers since 2002. . et i Stockholm. Har spelat med bl.a. Jubilee Jazz Band och spelar med Canal Creepers sedan 2002.

 

 

Claes "Koffe" Koffman, born in Stockholm (1941) first started to play the banjo in the 50's. Like-minded met up at traditional jazz club Gazell at Österlånggatan in Stockholm's Old Town. He soon had real gigs at school dances and festivals. He never stopped playing the banjo but it's during these last 20 years he åplayed the most - first at hte jazz club Stampen, then at Strömsborg, Mosebacke and Mälarsalen etc. and with a number of different bands. Claes i a meber of Canal Creepers since 2004.

 

 

Hasse Ruta, contrabass (born 1940), started to play the clarinet when he was a teenager. He also plays the keyed fiddle and bass in folk music. Hasse plays in Canal Creepers since 1997 and he also plays the clarinet and soprano saxophone in the traditional jazz band Red Wings.

 

 

Torbjörn Haage, drums, born in Stockholm (1941). Torbjörn has always liked music with a pulse. He started to play the drums in the end of 1950's. Gazell Club was his "hang out" and he played in a couple of school bands. He starts to play the drums again in 1985. He wes one of the initiators of Canal Creepers, by love to the New Orleans-style. Torbjörn has written a book about the old jazz songs origin.
