Experienced Irrigation & Dryland Leading hand – North West NSW

A family cropping operation in the Northwest of NSW seeks an experienced farmhand to join their team. The farm operates on 5,500Ha near Wee Waa and manages up to 1,600Ha of irrigated cotton and 3,000Ha of dryland cropping annually.

You will be involved in all aspects of the cropping programs. Two-thirds of the current irrigation system is bankless, with plans to increase this percentage in the coming seasons. The farm utilises near-new John Deere (row crops), and Case machinery (broadacre), so skilled machinery operators with mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be comfortable with John Deere GPS Autotrac tractors and have an understanding of bed preparation, re-hilling, rolling, planting, cultivating, mulching, and root cutting, preferably with experience in these tasks.

Experienced Station Hand, Conmurra – SA

Operating two properties within close proximity for an aggregation of 6,000 hectares, the established family business holds work ethic and manners in the highest of regards. Cereal, Oilseeds and Broad Bean are dryland cropped on 1,400 hectares, with all harvested crop stored within the 8,000 tonnes of on-farm storage to be transported throughout the year. Additionally, seven centre pivots assist in the production of fodder cropping for the livestock.

This is a hands-on role that will see you involved in all aspects of the operation, working directly with the owners and two other team members; all personnel undertake all elements. The majority of work is with livestock and approximately 20% of your time is spent on cropping outside of peak seasons.

Situated just 35 minutes from Roma, you’ll enjoy the convenient location of ACC’s Brindley Park Property Group.  This large-scale Wagyu/Angus stud and commercial backgrounding operation is an aggregation of 10 properties spanning over 70,000 acres and carrying up to 9000 head.
