10 Best Songs of 2010

As 2010 comes to close, we have finalized our list of 10 best songs of the year. Many of the singles feature guest artists like Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Hayley Williams, and others leading the pack. 

But let’s not exclude Lady Antebellum, who succeeded from their earlier album release has carried them over into the new decade. 

Here are the AOL Radio’s Top Pop Songs of 2010 pulled from the listener’s rating on our Fresh 40 station.

10. ‘Rude Boy’-Rihanna

Rude Boy is the third single and second international single from Rihanna’s fourth studio effort ‘Rated R’. It is driven by steel drums, the ska and dancehall track’s title references Jamaican slang, specifically males who are continually in trouble. After all, who doesn’t love the Bad boy?

9. ‘Bad Romance’- Lady GaGa

Borrowing a commonly-used text acronym to describe his feelings for a girl. This will be the best song of 2010, that features stadium cheering in the chorus and Black Eyed Peas front man.  And William singing auto-tune vocals backed by his own hip-hop beats. 

7. ‘Break Your Heart’- Taio Cruz

This R&B song with the auto tune vocals and synth back beat, its the first single from Talo Cruz’s. It was released on September- album “Rokstarr.” It is originally penned for UK singer Cheryl Cole, this No.1 UK hit has been remixed in 2010 for the US version that features rap sequences by Ludacris.

6. ‘Just the Way You Are’- Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars topped the charts with his gushing debut single, which tells every girl exactly what they want to hear: “Cause Girls, you are amazing just the way you are”. This song has reached No.1 spot in eight countries and it was covered on Fox series “Glee”.

5. ‘Need You Now (2010 Mix)’- Lady Antebellum

This song is fully about the longing of late-night companionship. A beautiful ballad for a booty-call, this song has reached No. 1 on the hot country charts. Also transitioning over to pop radio. 

4. ‘Airplanes’- B.o.B

Atlanta’s newest MC and the producer recruits the Paramore’s tangerine bombshell, Hayley Williams, for this track. Featuring piano melodies and prominent clapping back beats. As he says, I could use a dream or a genie- To go back to a place much simpler than this. 

3. ‘Nothin’ on You’- B.o.B

B.o.B’s first single was “Nothin on You”. Featuring Bruno Mars (who sings the catchy chorus about all the beautiful women incomparable to “the one”), this best song of 2010 is also included on B.o.B.’s debut studio album, ‘The Adventures of Bobby Ray.’

2. ‘Love the Way You Lie’- Eminem

This blockbuster album has been breaking out the records on the Billboard charts. As well as its second single, “Love the Way You Lie”. It’s something that, you have to know, that both of us have experienced on different sides, different ends of the table.

1. ‘California Gurls’- Katy Perry

Featuring hip-hop star The Snoop Dogg, The song includes Prince-sounding 80’s guitar beats and summer-ready lyrics: “California girls / We’re unforgettable / Daisy dukes, bikinis on top / Sun-kissed skin, so hot, will melt your Popsicle.”
