"It's like youtube. You end up miles from what you first started looking at."

The Main Goal of the Argent Archives Webportal is to tie the Argent Dawn community together. One visit to the portal should be enough to understand what is currently happening in the realm. It is a place where players can present their characters, guilds and role-play experiences (stories, screens, artswork etc.) and at the same time check current news, plan events, read stories and see others' work. Enjoy!

The Argent Archives

The Argent Archives is a Webportal that brings the players of the World of Warcraft Argent Dawn role-play server (EU) a new dimension to their role-playing experience. Read news, create character or guild profiles and search the database for others.

The website is in some ways a representation of the The Argent Archives in Ironforge, though it is up to each user to decide what information is only on the site for OOC purposes, and what is actually written in the Archives in-character. Try to accomodate for this during roleplay and avoid invading people's privacy.

Show the Realm who you are

All that's needed to join The Argent Archives is a valid email address and a character on Argent Dawn that shows up in the Armory. Once you register, use the simple tagging system to link other character’s and stories to your own. Fill in the profile and soon everyone on the realm can see who your character really is.

Expand your Horizon

The Argent Archives is home to both Horde and Alliance. Search for new friends and enemies based on their stories, news items, artwork or profiles. You might have people come up to you in-game with proposals for storylines and fun roleplay after seeing your profile.

Privacy and Security

The Argent Archives is a tool made to enhance the In Character (IC) experience of the game. To ensure that nobody can understand who your alts are you must therefore register a new account for each character you have. Your email is safe with us, but we recommend not using your Wow password! Remember to only add what you want others to know of your character. Most fields in the profile are optional.

We recommend all our users to read the  Terms and Conditions before submitting content.

OOC and IC

We hope to unite all roleplayers on Argent Dawn. We do not judge good or bad roleplay. We accept and respect all forms of roleplaying as long it is in line with the Blizzard Policy for Roleplaying http://www.wow-europe.com/en/policy/roleplaying.html. Whether you prefer to spend your time raiding, committing crime in Stormwind, questing randomly or getting drunk in the Pig and Whistle matters not. Since views on roleplaying are as diverse as the characters and players of Argent Dawn we have opted to keep the portal as in character as possible. Examples: Links to external websites, polls for how to improve the site.

The AA Team

Starstone – The Administrator
Starstone
Being heavily involved in the former Argent Dawn Community website, there is none better to run the Webportal than Starstone. Using Drupal allows us to add and remove applications that suits the Archives and Starstone knows the ins and outs of the tool better than anyone. He has been part of the team since the beginning and today his primary role is maintaining the Archives' database and code.

Ralane - The TrustedRalaneFor a long time, there was only one admin at a time able to provide daily help desk support to users. When Saerynn retired Isadolde rejoined the AA web team, but because of the popularity of the Archives however, an extra helping hand was needed. Starstone and Isadolde reached out for their common friend Ralane who they have known since vanilla. Ralane is a perfect fit for the team for her ever helpful and level-headed personality. She joined the team in August 2015.

Grainos - The Industrious

Grainos has been an eager user of the Archives for a long time. He was taken into the team in August 2017 recommended by another admin. Do not let his frail looks fool you; he has shown such dedication towards helping the visitors of the Archives that the team sometimes has to order him takeaways from the Stonefire Tavern when he stays in late responding to mail.

Luzhuo - The Patient

Lu Zhuo was taken into the team in March 2019. Loving the Archives for its collection of history and stories, this Lorewalker exercises his sage wisdom and patience for the benefit of the community. Believing that helping others begins in self-improvement, Lu Zhuo can sometimes be spotted meditating during the quiet hours to the point visitors have mistaken him for a stuffed trophy.

The AA team runs the website on top of their personal real life commitments and hobbies. This is why it can sometimes take a little while for them to answer your emails. They don't get paid for their time maintaining the community website.

Anonymous helpers of the Archives that might not be ready yet to see the light of day. Currently we have zero ink gnomes.

Former staff & contributors

Alabast – The Marketer (Absent)
Alabast
Not as ancient as the other two founding members (Alabast didn’t log on until day two), Alabast has always tried to make up for his late entry by creating more or less successful roleplaying ventures. Working with advertising and marketing in real life he regarded the Archives as an arena for combining his passions for years. Alabast was responsible for expanding the user base of the Archives as well as doing most of the graphical work for it. Because of real life commitments however, he can no longer dedicate much time to the Archives.

Yara – The Visionary  (Retired)
Y
Yara’s human alterego has been around since day one of Argent Dawn. Researching for her PhD on role-play in online games she traveled Azeroth in different forms. You might have met her as a snaphappy twin-sister in Stormwind for example. Next to being the teams voice of reason and visionary mind, she was heavily involved in both the Argent Post as well as Gilthas programming. She's since retired in order to continue her research iN RL with online communities and roleplaying.

Adnaw – The Expert  (Retired)Adnaw

The original AA team realized how ridiculously low the teams presence on Horde side was, and set out to find and recruit the very best to join our cause. Our first choice as well as first recruit is famous for her troll events and continuous community efforts. Her expertise and insight to the team was only matched by her passion for roleplaying and the game itself. Adnaw, Britomart and Radish have since retired in order to focus more on RL and the running of Adnaws amazing troll community.

Mgurk - The Engineer (Retired)
Mgurk
Mgurk's been heavily involved in roleplay on Argent Dawn since the server was in its infancy. He's run some of the servers longest running guilds and have inspired more people than we care to count. You might know him on his Alliance character: Albrect. Mgurk not only helped create the amazing Reportbutton, but also helped run the site for years before retiring.

Gernwald - The Guardian (Retired)
Gernwald
Gernwald is the teams latest member. He was chosen for consistently creating roleplay on the server with his characters as well as his neutral and sensible forum posts. His alt, Barloy can be seen daily in Stormwind and Gernwald aids the Horde chapters of the Archives. Though he's more likely to be on his mains like Trynian and Dalrick, he's a devoted member that has brought new life to the Archives.

Saerynn - The Lifegiver (Retired)
Saerynn
When Alabast and the rest of the team went on a prolonged hiatus a few years ago, Saerynn took it upon her to answer every call for help in their stead. With only minimal support she brought the Archives through some rough times and for that reason she was guarding its gates with the others. Unfortunately Saerynn had to step back for becoming busy in real life. We thank her for all her hard work and wish her all the best!

Gilderoy - The Wise (Retired)

gilderoy.png

Gilderoy was asked to help the team because of his calm, rational and helpful personality. He has shown long-term passion, selflessness and maturity in creating both engaging and helpful content for the roleplayers of the realm. He joined the team in July 2017.

Isadolde - The Spirit (Retired)
Isadolde
Isadolde was brought aboard after showing herself as being the Archives' perhaps most ambitious user. She worked tiredlessly to make AD a great place for years and was brought onboard as an advisor and helping hand and was often seen at events with Alabast in the past.

Orviane - The Caring (Retired)

Orviane is an old user of the web portal. She was very happy being asked to help with the project and has shown great enthusiasm towards updating forgotten, dusty corners of the Archives. She joined the team in July 2017 and revived the Archives Artist of the Month which lasted until May 2021.

The Sweeper The gallery moderator. Joined the team in March 2017.

Tsathoggua - Tsath worked with the AA Web Team while Adnaw was on board. Writing articles, giving websupport and helping improve the Archives.

Regi – From the very beginning Regi was there and aided both the Caravans as well as the foundation of how the site would work.

The Snapsisters – The work of the Snapsisters was a great inspiration for us when we created the site. Some might remember that Speckles even was worked for the Archives for a little while.

Kalistra – Another cornerstone in the development of the Archives. Kalistra’s old interviews was one of the many sites that inspired us to create the Archives.

Calon – We thank Calon for encouraging us to keep working at a critical stage. That is also why he has been forever imprinted into the graphics on the site. Can you find him?

Dobbley – For creating the first version of the Archives. Back then our goal was to interview each member ICly and putting up the profile ourselves. Ahh, the madness…

The ADwiki – Thanks to the ADwiki for not yelling at us when proposing to create “another wiki” for Argent Dawn.

The first caravan: Rachidi, Crudelia, Teedot, Flarn, Aireicyl, Bootse and Ibraima, together with the many guilds that defended the caravan. Thank you!
