Issa Rae is a producer, director and writer striving to make her mark on the entertainment industry. She received her B.A. from Stanford University, where she produced and directed four theatrical productions. Because film was her true passion, she took time off from Stanford to attend the New York Film Academy where she honed her filmmaking skills. "The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl" is Issa Rae's third web series and it has been featured on several sites and publications. Rae recently signed with UTA and 3 Arts Entertainment with plans to turn ABG into a cable half-hour comedy.

A west Los Angeles native, Madison T. Shockley III dreamt of becoming an artist at such a young age that he taught himself how to play the guitar. A field trip to Sony's recording studio in Santa Monica further cemented his interest in the music industry. Being equally passionate about business, Madison has lead the marketing campaign for a national independent record release and currently owns his own professional recording studio in San Diego. When he is not in the studio, Madison is in Hollywood, networking and developing various entertainment projects.

These days, Lyman Johnson calls himself an actor, but before that he was an engineering student at Columbia University. You can still occasionally find him tutoring kids in math and science. He refuses to pay for bottled water in a country where decorative fountains and puddles are free, and won't buy a Nalgene when he has his pick of a perfectly good coffee pot or empty shampoo bottle.

Sujata Day has appeared in many TV shows, films, and web productions since moving to LA from the black 'n yella suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA. TV credits include Desperate Housewives, Secret Life of the American Teenager, Campus Ladies, Greek, and The Loop. She played a supporting role in 2009's Down For Life, alongside Danny Glover and Snoop Dogg. Sujata can be seen next starring in the dance mockumentary, Big Breakin', set to be released in early 2012.

The son of a retired touring ballroom dancer, Tristen aspired to be a performer at an early age. Tristen discovered his passion for bringing characters to life on stage after enrolling in The Colburn School of Performing Arts, under Alfred Desio's expertise (inventor of Tap Tronics). Tristen first met Issa Rae in high school where they performed together in a production of "On Striver's Row". Their second collaboration is "The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl". In addition to ABG, he is working on a short film entitled, "Papers and Plastics", written and directed by Angelica Cheri.

Michael Ruesga is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara's BFA acting program. Since graduating, he has been involved in several films, web series and theatrical productions. He dabbles in writing and directing occasionally, but he's proud to continue living his dream of acting by joining the wonderful cast of "The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl".

Ricky is an actor/comedian from Los Angeles, CA. He met ABG's cinematographer/director Shea Vanderpoort while they attended Damien High School in La Verne, CA. They have remained close friends for over a decade and once shared a house together. One day, Shea called Ricky and asked him to "temporarily" fill in for one of the cast members while they were out of town. Ricky gratefully accepted and eventually, the temp got hired! It's an amazing story of friendship and being in the right place at the right time.

Devin resides in Los Angeles where she works at UCLA. Devin began her friendship with Issa in the 9th grade, discovering that they had the same birthday and similar coping mechanisms. Little known fact, she was actually the camera girl for Season 1: Episode 1. Devin is excited to be apart of The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl.
